This star-studded event attracts a hot crowd every year because the organization it supports is so critically import. Sigourney Weaver and Lifetime Networks are the honorees, with performances by powerhouse diva Fantasia, hilarious Wanda Sykes, the cast of Spring Awakening, Will & Grace's Leslie Jordan and a cast of thousands.
The Trevor Project developed the first suicide prevention helpline to deal with the problem of LGBT youth suicide rates. The cornerstone of The Trevor Project is the 1994 Academy Award winning short film Trevor, a comedy/drama about a gay 13-year old boy named Trevor who, when rejected by friends and peers because of his sexuality, makes an attempt to take his life. The Trevor Helpline (866-4-U-TREVOR) has taken over 100,000 calls since its inception and provides outreach efforts to LGBT youth through educators and youth service providers to better serve them.
