Keep That Award Handy! Kanye West Joins MTV VMA Lineup
This alone is worth the price of admission. Superstar and sensitive musical genius Kanye West has agreed to close the 25th anniversary show of the MTV VMA this Sunday. His "Good Life" video featuring T-Pain was awarded Best Special Effects, but should his "Homecoming" fail to win the Best Hip Hop Video category, the show he is closing might look something like this.
Word that producers are trying to entice Sir Elton John and Lily "I've got my whole life ahead of me" Allen to announce his win for the Hip Hop category appear totally unfounded.
Other performers expected to grace the stage include Christina Aguilera, Lupe Fiasco, Kate Perry, Rihanna, Pink, Kid Rock, Jonas Brothers, Paramore, T-Pain, T.I. and The Ting Tings. Britney Spears will return to the scene of the crime and throw her once ample frame on the mercy of the court.
Presenters include an interesting mix of 2008 pop culture, to be debated vigorously by archeologists, historians and high chieftains on planets far from Earth in space and time. They include Miley Cyrus, Lindsay Lohan, Scarlett Johansson, Ciara, Zac Efron, Chace Crawford, Ashlee Simpson, John Legend, Kobe Bryant, Leona Lewis, Paris Hilton, Slash, Taylor Swift, Shia LaBeouf and "The Hills" gang — Lauren Conrad, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt.
