The New New Face Perks Up
New York Magazine's Jonathan Van Meter has his finger on the pulse and it's still beating, I swear. Ladies (and men) of a certain maturity have been looking for miracle workers since Helen Keller found her water pump. The relatively recent advent of Botox and Restylane have replaced the wind-tunnel face lifts of time past. I think the article hits the right mark but the old broads they used as examples of the old new faces look pretty good age-adjusted.

“Though why you think anyone I represent has done anything to their faces is beyond me. Ha-ha. Getting any artist besides Joan Rivers and Kathy Griffin to go on record about the subject is not easy. Of course one of the great quotes came from my gal Cher, who said in an interview, ‘If I want to put my tits on my back it’s my business.’ Whatever Madonna has had done—and I really don’t know—she looks truly amazing.”
