Madonna is pure hotness in her new video for "Give it 2 Me." One of the strongest tracks off the amazing "Hard Candy." The queen does a lot of posing and a little dancing for good measure. Pharrell even stops by, draggin' his purple alligator Louis Vuitton bag of tricks behind him. An instant Madonna classic.
When my Mom really thought I did something lacking good judgment, she would say
"You don't have the good sense God gave a goose."
Mom
I always thought geese were relatively sensible, but I knew she was casting disapproval in my direction. I know what my Mom would say to Christian Siriano right now: He may have won Bravo's Project Runway, but he don't have the good sense God gave a goose if he is offending trannies or drag queens.
"If you think of heterosexuals, they have white-trash women and trailer parks, and we have drag queens and trannies. I don’t know if I’m the one who can explain it. It’s, like, drag queens are just there."
Well, these folks are your best friend or your fiercest enemy. They had the balls to resist the raid at Stonewall, using a parking meter as a battering ram in 6 inch stiletto heels to set off riots that began the process toward equal protection. That event is commemorated in LGBT Pride Parades around the world. When Christian can live, attend school and work where he chooses, he does so because the transgendered community and drag queens allowed him the privilege.
“I mean no disrespect to the transgender population and I never will. Some of my close friends happen to be transgender and I think they are some of the most inspiring people in my life…I completely support the fabulousness and amazing fashion inspiration that most transgender people provide.”
“I wish that my words were not taken in that way. When I was speaking, some comments that I made were not used in the article.”
When you got the phone call telling you that Apple were using your song did you think 'amazing, let's go shopping'?
Haha, 'let's go shopping'… Well what happened was that we played at SXSW and we were doing three gigs a day and I was exhausted, and I actually fainted before we were due to play for the Apple people. I managed to play three songs, then we heard that they were interested in using the song and they sent a contract through. But we weren't sure if they were sending it to twenty different bands, or just to us, or whatever. We only found out we were on the advertisement when we saw the ad on YouTube, after it had been on TV! Apparently it comes right down to Steve Jobs deciding, on the day, that he wants it on his TV ad. But until we saw it on YouTube we thought we'd lost it. [Popjustice Interview]

They say the suit makes the man. But the corollary is light-socket hair makes even the well-dressed man scary. In the first picture of "Wall of Sound" writer and producer Harvey Philip Spector, murder seems like the least heinous thing the fellow did. In the second picture taken at the trial, he seems quite congenial and pleasant, perhaps ready to give Tina Turner some sage, fatherly advice about leaving her abusive husband Ike.
I tried to stay away from the press and my dad [did] also. He understood that I didn’t like to hear anything going on in the news about me, good or bad, because I didn’t want it to distract me or let it go to my head or anything like that because I just wanted to stay myself as I was at the beginning of the competition before all this happened. I wanted to keep who I was, the normal, teenage David. But in interviews and stuff it started coming up and it’s kind of strange because there were really weird things. I heard one thing where he refused to give me water or something like that and that’s the weirdest thing. I mean, I am 17 and you know, if I want water, I am pretty sure I would just go get it anyway!
He found stardom relatively late in life, at 46, after a series of jobs and ventures of varying success. He and partner Dan Rowan teamed up with producers Ed Friendly and George Schlatter to create "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In" as a summer replacement series for NBC in 1968. The five year run of the show captured the pulse of the nation, with a brilliant ensemble cast and quirky guest appearances from the top and bottom tiers of musicians, comedians, athletes, actors, writers, dancers, preachers and politicians. "Laugh-In, which debuted in January 1968, was unlike any comedy-variety show before it.
Rather than relying on a series of tightly scripted song-and-dance segments, it offered up a steady, almost stream-of-consciousness run of non-sequitur jokes, political satire and madhouse antics from a cast of talented young actors and comedians that also included Lily Tomlin, Goldie Hawn, Ruth Buzzi, Arte Johnson, Henry Gibson, Alan Sues, Jo Anne Worley and announcer Gary Owens.
Presiding over it all were Rowan and Martin, the veteran nightclub comics whose standup banter put their own distinct spin on the show.
Whatever words one uses, I like to believe the sentiment of the "insiders that are predicting a return to clubbing mecca Ibiza's glory days." It is a lovely island that brings music, beaches and tasty Spanish food together - near insisting folks dance, celebrate and find the rhythm of life. If a corner of the world refuses to be drawn into violence and those things which separate us, I am all for it.
