Just when you thought you knew everything about Cher, she drops another bombshell -- she once dated Tom Cruise.
"He
was so wonderful. And I was so crazy about him. And he was so, like, different. He was a shy
boy. He didn't have any money."
"So how much of a date was that?" Winfrey asked.
"Oh, that was a long date," Cher said. "Really. I lived in his apartment."
According to a reporter who was in the audience for the Las Vegas taping, Oprah gushed off camera about the automatic toilet in her hotel room. Click here for the graphic and rather nauseating details. Cher and Tina Turner will both appear on Oprah May 8th. [Source]
So everyone's panties are in a twist after last night's "American Idol." Paula Abdul accidentally critiqued two performances by Jason Castro saying, "The second song, I felt like your usual charm wasn't — it was missing for me. It kind of left me a little empty." The only problem was that Jason Castro hadn't sung a second song yet. Fans of the show have expressed shock and outrage that the show might be rigged. What I find shocking is that people are shocked about this. [Source]
I've gushed about Robyn for what seems like ages and now her self-titled album has finally hit the States. "Robyn" currently has an "87" rating on Metacritic, which is a huge achievement. That's no surprise since it's been No. 1 all over the world -- now let's give Robyn a No. 1 in the US! Check out Robyn's website for her current tour schedule.
Madonna's "Hard Candy" is finally available worldwide and I have to say it's been quite a journey. There's been laughter, tears, and loads of dirty candy metaphors. Tomorrow night (4-30) Madonna will perform at Roseland Ballroom in New York. If you weren't lucky enough to win tickets, you can still catch it live on MSN Music.
Madonna "4 Minutes" (feat. Justin Timberlake & Timbaland)
"No one is born hating another person because of the colour of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite."
I am surprised nearly every day, so to learn that Andrew Lloyd Webber night failed to halt the 5 year American Idol slide was not such a shock. That it posted the lowest rating among adults 18-49 in five years last week did not rock my world. But the voting system itself is a continuing source of mystery - seems to be disconnected from the show right now. Music charts have long tried to capture the complexity of gauging popularity through channels of sales, radio airplay, requests, etc.
"I hate that word (comeback). It's a return, a return to the millions of people who have never forgiven me for deserting the screen."
Rihanna's had it with her no good man. She's burning his clothes and kicking his butt to the curb in her new video "Take A Bow." The song will be featured on a re-release of her multi-platinum album "Good Girl Gone Bad," out May 27th.
Super diva, the GRAMMY and BRIT Award winning songstress Amy Winehouse, has been arrested in a head-butting incident. Some nights are crazier than others for all of us, and according to The Sun this one involved an "attack on two men while out on a wild drug-fueled bender." Gosh, I wish I had a dollar for every one of those. The Sun claims she also overturned tables and drinks in the melee. Amy claims her reaction was in response to being assailed. I say tomato toma'to, but Scotland Yard and the justice system will sort this all out.
“He said she was a snarling tigress. It’s said she caused a serious amount of damage.”
