The Divine Miss M founded the nonprofit New York Restoration Project (NYRP) in 1995 to transform New York City's poorly tended parks and gardens in many of the poorer neighborhoods. The organization she founded partnered with individuals, community groups and public agencies to bring the unkempt public parks and gardens back to their natural beauty.

This year Charitybuzz is teaming up with Ms. Midler for the New York Restoration Project's 2008 Annual Spring Picnic. Items on the auction block to raise money include a walk on role on The Sarah Silverman Show, a meet and greet with Martina McBride and 2 VIP tickets to see The Showgirl Must Go On starring the one and only Bette Midler herself.

The online Flower Power auction is on Charitybuzz from May 12th to the 29th, so don't miss it.

Bette Midler "The Rose"

As part of her successful fundraising efforts to benefit the New York Restoration Project, the Divine Miss M is well known for hosting her legendary Fall Hulaween gala and her annual Spring Picnic.

This year, charitybuzz is partnering with Bette Midler for the New York Restoration Project's 2008 Flower Power Auction. We will be celebrating Bette's love of parks and gardens in an online auction featuring celebrity friends of Bette's who share her passion for gardening, as well as incredible trips from all over the globe that highlight the very finest gardens and parks of the world!"
