"It's good to be back where I belong! I wrote several records here and people have always been very nice."

Every now and again we are treated to something truly remarkable:Tracey Ullman's State of the Union" provides a sparklin' wit and commentary well worth waiting for.
Tracey Ullman is on the top of her game, which is saying quite a lot. In just 30 minutes she channeled Laurie David, Arianna Huffington, Victoria and David Beckham, Judi Dench (but no chips), Nanci Pelosi, Tony Sirico (Pauli Walnuts Sopranos), Dina Lohan, and many more folks.

Billboard is reporting that June 24th has been set as the release date for Nelly's long awaited album, "Brass Knuckles." In 2004 Nelly simultaneously released the albums "Sweat" and "Suit." In a bid to avoid public confusion, he compiled the best songs from both albums and simply retitled it, "Sweatsuit." Combined they sold in excess of 4 million copies. Beyoncé has confirmed via her website that the leaked demo "Beautiful Nightmare" is a possible song on her next album. Uncomfortable with being the object of favoritism, Beyoncé urged fans to pay more attention to music by the other Destiny's Children, and more importantly, real life sister Solange. [Source]
Yesterday, "Beautiful Nightmare," a demo I've been working on for possible inclusion on my next album, leaked on some websites. I want to thank all my fans for the positive response to the song, but I want to tell you that this is just a work in progress. It is not my time to put out new music. If you really want to hear some really great music now, you have to support my girls Kelly, Michelle and my sister Solange. Kelly just re-released her album digitally in the US, so check out "Ms. Kelly: Diva Deluxe." Michelle is about to put out the first single, "We Break The Dawn," from her album and Solange's single, "I Decided," is already one of my favorites.
Poolparty caught up with the young, blonde and beautiful twin sisters Brit & Alex this week and were immediately struck by the sparkling blend of light-hearted fun and artistic confidence and conviction in the talented duo.
Having just released their first single “Let It Go,” featured on the “Step Up 2” soundtrack, it was abundantly clear that these ladies defy the temptation for easy, convenient stereotypes. Alex was battling a nasty case of bronchitis, but Brit described herself as "the chattier of the two sisters" anyway.
The pair started out in show business young--they were both acting on “One Life To Live” at age three--and stepped away from acting and modeling to finish up school before focusing full time on their music career. Since then the savvy songstresses have managed to get the support of some major industry heavy-hitters. They’re signed to Interscope Records, share managers with Missy Elliott, and have been praised by the legendary Dallas Austin, who dubbed them “the new TLC.” Even with all the big names involved, Brit admitted to some initial reservations about going with a major record label, fearing that their songwriting talent might be ignored and artistic vision might be compromised. But "Interscope has been very supportive” and fostered, not hindered, the twins’ creativity.
Though they’ve been working on their debut album for the last two years, their debut single “Let It Go” was finished in the blink of an eye. The song was initially given to them by their manager, at which point the duo quickly recorded it and filmed the music video before Christmas break. The video was directed by Chris Applebaum, who did Rihanna’s “Umbrella.” Brit said they drew inspiration for their look from Blondie and Janet Jackson. Though it was “nerve wracking” to work with such a big director for their first video, everyone was happy with the finished product.
Currently, Brit & Alex are promoting “Let It Go” in Europe, with a planned date at club G-A-Y in London. Then it will be back to the States, where they will continue to work on their debut album. Not only are the girls working with the renowned Mr. Austin (Madonna, Janet, P!nk), but also GRAMMY winning songwriter and music producer Tricky Stewart (Rihanna, Britney Spears). According to Brit, the album has “an edgy, Urban/R&B feel.” She said they hoped to release it “sometime this summer,” with more promotional dates in the works.
