Kings of Leon Promise to Be There

Kings_of_leon

"We're a live band, that's our bread and butter. We like to get up there and put on a good show. We start rehearsing tomorrow and I'm sure we'll be kicking ourselves in the ass for recording such hard album parts that we're going to have to play live every night.."

He's So Right

Dwight_d_eisenhower

“In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.”

Former President and Five-Star General Dwight D. Eisenhower

Big Bang Boosts George Michaels' Musical Career

George_michael_25

George Michael told BBC Radio 4 listeners that his musical obsession started with a big bang. At age eight he had a significant head injury, and he theorizes this may have allowed his left brain to become dominant, and thus was the genesis of his subsequent, and heretofore unheard of, musical obsession. He is in the midst of a very successful 25th anniversary tour, made possible by that big bang. [Source]

Beyoncé Cancels Kuala Lumpur Concert

Beyonce_dancing

Beyoncé's Nov. 1 concert in Malaysia has been cancelled without reason.  Reports indicate that local Muslim groups had been protesting the event, which might have helped derail the concert.   More likely, was that Beyoncé herself axed the event.  Reportedly, she refused to abide by the strict dress code presented to her, which would have required that she performed with no exposed skin below the shoulders or above the knees.  Gwen Stefani had a similar problem a few months back, but ended up wearing more clothes on stage.  Of course, Beyoncé has such famous legs that it would have been a sin for her to cover them up.  [Source]

David Letterman Slaps Paris Around On "Late Show" Appearance

Maybe this was part of some brilliantly conceived skit between Dave and Paris, but judging from the look on her face, she wasn't expecting this.  [Source]

Deborah Harry Readies First Solo Album In 14 Years

Debbie_harry

Deborah Harry's "Necessary Evil" will be released October 9, with the possibility of club engagements to promote the album. Bad news for Blondie fans: Debbie told Billboard that, "If I tour for the new record, I won't play any Blondie songs. I don't want to step on any toes." "Two Times Blue" is the first single off of Debbie's new album, and you can check out the video below. [Source]

Uncle Kracker Pleads Guilty to Assault

Kracker_swamp

Uncle Kracker pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault charges related to an incident in a Raleigh nightclub. He reached up a woman's skirt and when the woman slapped him, he slapped her back. The singer was sentenced to 12 months probation, fined $1,500 and ordered into an alcohol abuse program. That Kracker better learn some manners. [Sources]

Celine Dion's "Alone" Will Blow Your Hair Back

Celine_taking_chances

I kinda made fun of Celine Dion's VERY dramatic album cover for "Taking Chances" a few days ago.  Of course, after hearing her cover of Heart's "Alone" it all makes perfect sense -- this track is going to be remixed every which way to Sunday and performed by countless drag queens from every corner of the globe.  The woman knows her audience.
