Fergie earned her third number 1 single as a solo artist this week with "Big Girls Don't Cry." According to Billboard the last artist to get three number 1 singles off one album was Christina Aguilera with her debut album way back in 1999. First she's dating Josh Duhamel and now this. Maybe this does qualify her as some sort of Dutchess. [Source]

Tina Turner started her career singing at 18 in 1958, and had a string of hits in the 60s and early 70s with mercurial husband Ike. By the mid-70s, her marriage and her career were in shambles, and she left Ike with 36 cents and a gas card. But she pressed on through the lean years, and in 1984 she released her 5th solo album, Private Dancer, and made a huge comeback that would define her career. Private Dancer became one of the biggest selling albums of all-time, selling over 10 million copies and earning four Grammy awards. From there, her solo career reached new heights on stage and screen, and she went on to sell 180 million records and more concert tickets than anyone in history. Not bad for a girl from Nutbush, Tennessee, and perhaps a lesson to any young diva going through a tough patch.

Next week is shaping up to be a Britney Spears extravaganza if reports are true. First up, is Britney's rumored performance at the MTV VMAs on September 9, where she will not only dance and sing, but also resurrect her career with the help of magician Criss Angel. To coincide with the performance EW.com states that Spears will release a new single titled "Gimme More," produced by Nate ''Danjahandz'' Hill and described by insiders as an "up-tempo club cut." The 53rd issue of the fabulous "Visionaire" will take the form of five 12" vinyl discs and will be seen, touched (delicately) and heard this December. "Sound" is described as a mulit-format album of fashion and art and will include contributions from Yoko Ono, the Knife, David Byrne, Cat Power, Michael Stipe, U2, Courtney Love, Animal Collective, Antony and the Johnsons, Alexander McQueen, Karl Lagerfeld and more names in art, music and fashion.
